Governance as a Competitive Advantage: The Click-to-Evidence Standard

In 2026, trust has become the currency of claims operations. As carriers move from experimenting with AI to relying on it, the black-box era of opaque algorithms is giving way to a demand for transparency. At Agentech, we don't think governance should be a hurdle to innovation. It's a competitive advantage, and it's built into our Click-to-Evidence standard.

The new regulatory reality

The landscape shifted fast. By 2026, more than 20 states plus the District of Columbia had adopted the NAIC's Model Bulletin on the use of AI by insurers, which asks insurers to put real governance, documentation, and audit procedures in place. That followed a wave of lawsuits over algorithms that allegedly denied claims without proper human review. In that environment, being able to prove why and how a decision was made is what keeps you out of legal and reputational trouble.

How we operate: the Agentech governance framework

Our AI governance policy runs on five pillars:

  • Transparency and explainability. Our model workflows and the decision paths are visible and explainable. Click-to-Evidence links every AI recommendation back to its source, like a specific line item in an estimate or an image in a photo report.

  • Fairness and bias mitigation. We don't wait for an annual review. We run periodic performance reports and maintain strict guardrails so the system operates without subjectivity.

  • Accountability and compliance. We renew our SOC 2 Type II certification annually and run regular penetration testing, and any AI or security incident goes to our compliance team within 24 hours.

  • Data ownership and security. We only use model providers that support Zero Data Retention when personal data is at stake, so none of our customers' data is used for model training or retained for any length of time outside the environments we manage.

  • Model governance. We monitor for model drift so accuracy holds up as conditions change.

Keeping a human in the loop

Our agents can automate a large share of a workflow out of the box, but anything the system isn't fully confident about gets flagged for a human. That keeps professional expertise in control of the high-stakes calls.

Building trust with enterprise partners

For enterprise carriers, adopting AI is a due-diligence exercise. So we share our governance approach up front. We often answer security and governance questions before the first meeting, and we frame our AI as a workforce that meets the standards carriers already have to hit, including FEMA and NFIP compliance.

Governance as growth

Some teams treat governance as a burden. We treat it as a way to grow. The carriers putting governance first are the ones earning trust from regulators, partners, and customers. When the AI provides the evidence and people provide the judgment, insurers can scale responsibly.
